Summary:

Are you a detail-oriented individual with understanding of reprographics and a passion for print production? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Mac Operator to join a growing manufacturer within the pre-press team. You will play a vital role in ensuring customer-supplied files are print-ready to produce high-quality output for litho, flexo, and digital packaging presses. If you possess excellent technical skills, a strong knowledge of Adobe CC software, and a methodical approach to artwork processing, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer-supplied files and ensure they are print-ready according to job specifications

• Utilise PC Symphony Rip system to impose files and generate lithographic plates for printing presses

• Prepare print-ready files for flexo printing and digital packaging presses

• Create artwork from concept briefs or specifications provided by account handlers

• Familiarity with packaging print processes is advantageous

• Operate CTP machines and chemical processors, as well as flexo print processes

• Maintain a keen eye for detail throughout the artwork process, including colour management and adherence to Royal Mail guidelines

• Take responsibility for departmental tasks such as filing job bags, placing orders for stock items, file backups, and Mac maintenance

• Collaborate effectively with the team and demonstrate punctuality and a can-do attitude

• Participate in on-site training to enhance knowledge and skills in specific processes

Key Skills/Experience:

• Proficiency in Adobe CC software, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro

• Strong knowledge of Pitstop Pro is essential

• Familiarity with PC or Mac Rip systems

• Experience working with CTP machines and chemical processors, as well as flexo print processes

• Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to artwork processing

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong organisational skills, including file management and order placement

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes through on-site training

• Punctuality and a proactive attitude towards departmental tasks
