Summary:
A leading 3PL are looking to appoint a Commercial Director. As the title suggests, you will be responsible for the commercial function, leading on customer services, sales delivery, growth and development of key customers within the organisation.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and lead in a way consistent with Group values
- Develop and agree commercial budgets
- Managing a sales team capable of delivering agreed revenue/profit targets
- Leading an account development team capable of delivering retention and growth targets
- Running a team with the skill set to quickly resolve immediate customer issues
- Develop and approve sales & marketing and account management processes
- Design of long term sales growth plan
- Drive customer profitability and customer value to support relationship longevity
- Deliver sales, marketing and solutions functions
- Develop key internal relationships with operations and support functions
- Oversee pricing tools and pricing policy
- Participate in and lead strategic projects
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Relevant haulage industry experience and in-depth knowledge of the transport market
- Ideally, knowledge of membership-based businesses
- Highly motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude; entrepreneurial with a natural ability to spot opportunities for margin generation whilst being comfortable working in a changing environment;
- Demonstrated financial and commercial acumen; ability to assess financial data
- Strong track record of sales performance as an individual and delivering results through leading a high performing sales team
- Previous experience of successfully introducing structural and cultural change in a team; a natural leader of people with excellent managerial and motivational skills
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills;
- Ability to assess associated business risk with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of national transport networks
