Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + OTE (£65,000) + car and benefits
Our client is one of the leading distributors of capital plant equipment in the compressed air industry in the UK. As part of their continued growth and development, they are currently looking to appoint an Area Sales Engineer who is established in Technical Sales to join their business.
The successful candidate will be covering a territory comprising the PE and CV postcode areas. You will be in the field for the majority of the time but will also need to be able to access Head Office in the South East Midlands within a reasonable timeframe.
- Working closely with existing customers to maintain and develop their spend by cross-selling and upselling other products within the offering.
- With the support of internal appointment setters, identify, prospect and secure business with new customers within the territory.
- Survey customer sites to specify their plant requirements, create proposals and make recommendations.
- Develop sales plans and strategies for your defined territory.
- Report on commercial activity within your territory.
- Have a demonstrable track record in selling capital equipment, plant equipment or compressed air products in a field based sales role.
- Be an accomplished consultative new business and account management professional who is accustomed to building and realising a significant sales pipeline.
- Have experience in developing sales strategies and identifying opportunities to prospect, pitch and present for plant and capital equipment sales.
- Display excellent negotiation, planning and organisation skills.
- Be used to working to targets and managing workflow with little or no supervision.
