Bis Henderson were delighted to sponsor the Supply Chain Initiative award last week at the Procurement Leaders Awards. The Procurement Leaders Awards are the most celebrated and sought after awards in procurement, representing the best initiatives, individuals and companies across the world. They reward the collective efforts of individuals and teams and are a vindication of the hard work, innovation and dedication of those at the forefront of this dynamic global profession.

Paula O’Reilly, Director – Procurement of BiS Henderson was proud to present the Highly Commended Award to Fujitsu and the Best Supply Chain Initiative Award to the winners – Delphi. The UK based automotive supplier Delphi operates manufacturing sites and customer support centres in 32 countries. It’s a stated aim of the company to be recognised as the supplier of choice by customers – and thanks to the firm’s Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) team, it’s not well on the road to achieving that ambition.
The ISC team has been charged with driving enterprise-wide supply chain optimisation across all its regions, divisions and functions through the adoption of standard operating system and operating system assessments.
It’s a process that has brought impressive results, with the ‘one division pilot’ enabling the company to better its logistics expense budget for the past 12 months by 6% which equated to 10% year-on-year improvement. In the next 12 months, Delphi’s focus will centre on optimising logistics expense and inventory levels, enabling the company to achieve significant supply chain gains.
It has according to one judge, achieved “good collaboration and integration of procurement with other functions.’” And there’s clearly more to come.
