Our client, a leading global distribution business, is recruiting a Technical Inventory Planner to be based in their Bracknell office. You will be responsible for taking an innovative and creative approach to how future enhancements and features might provide business alternatives to existing process inefficiencies. Focusing on productivity gains by creating systems and applications to remove manual processes or non-value add tasks and transactions.
The role engages very closely with internal stakeholders – Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance so a highly data driven and business acumen individual with out of the box thinking is highly desired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, evaluate, and monitor inventory related policies to determine their benefits, flaws, and impacts. Inventory policies include: Lead Times, Safety Stock Levels and Inventory Sourcing Rules and other master data cleanse maintenance.
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand and document needs, concerns, and viewpoints; Enforce Company inventory policies and procedures in daily communication with field leadership.
- Understand data governance and control distribution of company inventory data points.
- Find new insights and trends which will help identify and solve complicated supply chain problems.
- Gather, analyze, integrate, and report on quantitative and qualitative data. Perform analysis with this data using analytical models and mathematical analysis. Deliver comprehensive reports in presentation and / or written form.
- Find new insights and trends which will help identify and solve complicated supply chain problems.
- Review processes, identify improvement needs and create systems and applications to meet such needs.
- Work cross-functionally with Inventory Management on customer specific solutions that will improve efficiency and enhance customer experience.
Necessary skills, knowledge and experience:
- Good knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain and inventory management processes within a Distribution business
- Strong analytical capabilities & experience with statistical tools
- Detail oriented, very comfortable working with numbers.
- Experience in of dealing with outputs from systems such as Oracle Value Chain Planning or other recognised planning systems such as JDA, SAP would be an advantage
- Familiarity with SQL database and query language would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with automation tools like UI-Path or SQL database and query language would be an advantage, but not an essential requirement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships. Technology savvy and willing to learn new technology and applications
- 3+ years of relevant experience in related role.
