This is a specialist retail group with a commanding position in its niche market. The company sells high value technology products via its own stores and on-line and has thrived over the last year. Growth is set to to reach record levels this year coming, and the business is strengthening its management team accordingly.
In this key position you will report to the CEO and manage all aspects of product distribution from import and storage via the existing 3PL, thought to final mile delivery using a range of carriers. You will also manage a planning function that processes all import/export documentation.
The role is very broad based and you will be a versatile individual who enjoys variety, pace and challenge as part of your everyday activities. The can be very hands-on one day, and very strategic the next. This will involve the development of a long term logistics strategy, in conjunection with the 3PL, as well as short term peak planning, example.
Your experience will be in retail distribution. Critical to the the role is someone who has experience in management of 3PL contracts, understands international logistics and can build effective working relationships within a entrepreneurial business.
Head office is in the South East so you will be required to travel there regularly, as well as working on site with the 3PL which is based near Birmingham.
