This is one of Europe’s largest specialist retailers with a large multi-channel-channel network across several countries.
The company is financially strong, well established and has a sensible, achievable & sustainable growth plan built upon repeat business and ventures into new markets. The company ethos of maintaining its own logistics facilities and investing heavily in automation.
It has a stable and high performing leadership team, but does on occasion need external short-term support, and in this instance need to hire an experienced General Manager to lead the start up of a new site.
The new facility will be partially automated and use some advanced WMS technology.
You will have a proven background in new DC openings, ideally with experience gained in mainland Europe. German is the main language of the business, but English is widely spoken.
You will have led the developments of retail distribution centres and have managed sites of 1000+ staff. This position is offered on a fixed term contract basis of up to 2 years.
The project is anticipated to last for 2 years.
