This is a newly created role reporting directly to the National Fleet and Compliance Manager of a successful and growing distribution company and offers the opportunity to make this position your own and grow with the company. You will be responsible for the effective delivery of Technical Engineering support to help facilitate an efficient and legally compliant mixed Fleet operation of 3.5 to 44T vehicles across the UK whilst working to specific KPI’s and SLA’s ensuring the needs of the business are met at all times. Therefore, you will need to be an experienced and qualified Vehicle Mechanic/Technician from within the LGV industry and have a clear understanding of all regulatory compliance and Fleet cost control as well as having a good understanding of fleet repair costs and negotiation skills for parts and labour analysis. You will be required to oversee the management of maintenance providers, be able to negotiate service level agreements, ensure warranty periods are maximised and policy adherence is controlled, sourcing competitive and cost-efficient parts and suppliers and arranging the most cost-efficient repairs as well as resolving queries with suppliers, manufacturers and warranty providers. You should have proven Commercial awareness with experience of working to targets & KPI’s and a strong working knowledge with costings control via third party support functions.
