Overview:
This leading manufacturer of large scale process machinery equipment used primarily in the food manufacturing industry is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team based in the west of Leeds area.

The role would be an ideal fit for someone with a passion for design engineering and a keen eye for detail who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Producing high-quality models and manufacturing drawings from specifications and concept designs.
• Work closely with Design Managers and Project Engineers to deliver projects on time and to specification.
• Collaborate with manufacturing departments to align design work to production capabilities.
• Participate in design reviews and production meetings.
• Produce design calculations for approval.
• Support investigations into design errors and contribute to continuous improvement.

Key Skills:

• Possess a minimum HNC in Mechanical or Design Engineering.
• Have prior experience in Autodesk Inventor or a similar 3D CAD software application.
• Hold 2 years + design experience in design for manufacture.
• Experience of fabrication or sheet metal design.
• Possess strong IT skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
